Can anybody make any sense out of Ron Paul running for president, especially in the current situation in the USA today. Why would anyone plow big $s to support a candidate who probably hasn't a chance of getting off the ground. Do you suppose there is some other reason, like maybe trying to send a message of some sort? The only good I can see coming from it is bringing constitutional principles to the attention of Americans. And the media will likely do its best to sabotage any such effort. Does any of this make sense to you?

It may be that Ron Paul has a desire to "Stand Fast By Our Constitution" as many LDS really SHOULD be doing but don't. (That, BTW, is the title of a book by Pres. J. Reuben Clark.) Could it be that he knows that our Heavenly Father expects him to "Stand Up For Freedom," as urged by Pres. Benson and which only a minority of LDS have done? In effect, he is leaving the American people (and most especially the LDS) without excuse.
That is, if he truly does fight the good fight on constitutional grounds.
I fear, however, that if he becomes a believable threat to the power and wealth of the wicked presently in control of our country, he will get the George Wallace treatment. . . or the Jack Kennedy treatment.
By blackening his name and reputation through the mass media, whom they pretty much control, they could "demonize" him to the extent that the majority would think "serves him right," whatever happened.
Many so-called LDS said that about the Branch Davidians, having no compassion or sympathy for them as they were murdered and burned to death by the agents of the Federal Government. The lying charges of "child abuse" hurled at them by then-Attorney General Janet Reno caused many to lose all sympathy for the Branch Davidians and when the truth finally surfaced it was too late and Reno was never disciplined for her infamous lies. . . and most people just shrugged their shoulders and went about their business.
